Please remain in contact with us throughout the school year to stay informed about your child's progress. We want you to know what's going on!

Conferences: Parents and guardians, feel free to schedule a parent - teacher conference  throughout the school year. Please be sure to schedule all parent conferences in advance so that I can make accommodations. Below are my conference times and dates.
- Monday (12:45 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.)
- Tuesday - Friday (12:15 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.)

Graded Papers: Student work will be sent home to be signed every two weeks. Please sign the front page to let us know that you are aware of your child's progress. Keep the A's, B's and C's at home. Sign the papers marked D or F. Then, return them back to school the next day with your child. Take home folders that are not returned promptly may result in silent lunch or no recess, along with a phone call home.

Progress Reports: Progress Reports will be given out every 3 weeks. Please make sure that you sign and return it to school with your child promptly.

Homework: Students will have weekly spelling assignments to complete that will be due EVERY Friday. Vocabulary words should be studied along with 20 minutes of daily reading. Failure to turn in weekly homework will result in a zero.

Absence/Tardies: Parents, you will receive an Early Warning notice when you child has reached 7 unexcused absences. After 7 parent excused absences, a doctor's excuse or special permission will be required. Also, you will receive an Early Warning notice after 15 unexcused tardies or early checkouts. Please make sure that your child is at school daily and on time. Missed absences and/or tardies means missed instruction.

School Motto: Hand in hand, together we stand, raising the bar so we can go far. Who are we? We are E-I-S!

House System: This year, we will be trying something new to encourage positive behavior. Each student will be placed into one of four groups that will be called Houses.
These are the Four Houses:
Dar: House of Givers
Amigos: House of Friendship
Suenos: House of Dreamers
Valor: House of Courage

The students will gain points that will earn them individual and group incentives. Please ask your child about our House System throughout the school year.

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to teach your child. Together, we can work to help your child reach their full potential. To contact me, you may e-mail me at or call (205) 379-3350.

Thank you for ALL that you do! I look forward to a wonderful and productive school year.
